Philanthropy

From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.

The Eta Upsilon chapter is fortunate to have a Ronald McDonald House in Winston-Salem. Since our establishment in 2009, our relationship with the Ronald McDonald House has been strengthened through a number of activities and fundraisers. Each semester, we prepare meals for the families and contribute to Ronald McDonald fundraisers, such as Sport a Shirt, Share a Night. Additionally, we raise money for the Winston-Salem Ronald McDonald House through our own fundraisers such as our Annual Gala for Giving, Pie a Pi, and other smaller events.

Having a seriously ill child places a huge burden on families. Shelter should not be one of them. Together with the Ronald McDonald House Charities we make it easier on those families. We make a difference.

The 2024 Annual Gala for Giving was held on Parent’s Weekend. Our sisters love the opportunity to meet each other’s families and Alpha Delta Pi alumnae while supporting a wonderful cause, our local Ronald McDonald House. Each year sisters work with local businesses to arrange baskets for the silent auction. Last year, we raised almost $90,000 for the Winston-Salem Ronald McDonald House! The Gala is amazing event for sisters, parents, alumni, advisers, and RMH affiliates to gather for such a great cause.
